Lauren and Jacob

Narcissus! Aka, daffodils. Did you know that daffodils are in the Amaryllis family? I didn't, until I just looked up the spelling of Narcissus. I have thousands of extra fragrant, award winning daffy-dills that pop up every year. They smell amazing, and are so beautiful and fresh, and absolutely a statement of spring. I was honored to do the flowers for Lauren and Jacob. Working with Lauren was a treat. She's such a sweet, genuine person with a real zest for life. Here are some of the photos I snapped of the pretties I was honored to create for their special day...

Beth and Gerson

Beth and I go WAY back to 1st grade at Gaffney Lane Elementary. Throughout the years of school I always had changing groups of friends, but when I think back, there wasn't a time when Beth and I weren't tight. This floral gig was more than two decades in the making. ;) I'm going to post lots of photos, because this time I took them. Yep, I was honored to be the photographer too.

Beth, one of my girl-hood besties and lifelong soul sister.

Gerson, Beth's true love. An amazing man!

This is just a glimpse into the garden they were married above. Beth's grandparent's have cultivated this place for decades. Her grandmother is a master gardener and a true inspiration to me.

 Aren't they a gorgeous couple!?

I think I was distracting Emma a bit. ;) She was continuing to sprinkle petals, fulfilling her flower girl duties of course.

They were married under an amazing Mimosa tree. The blooms were fragrant and beautiful.
A true garden bouquet. I spent hours in Beth's grandma's garden the day before the wedding harvesting flowers. With the exception of a few sunflowers and white stargazers (from my own garden) everything came from their family's garden.

 Beautiful family!

 Emma, Beth's beautiful little 'mini-me.'
Since this is a flower blog, here's a close up. ;)
Could the bouquet and the cupcakes have looked more perfect together?

Cheers! This is just after Beth's grandparents gave beautiful speeches.

I can't help it, another shot.

Sunflower seeds as favors. This is so Beth!

This is Alethia, Beth's amazing grandmother. I want to be like her someday.

 Chance, handsome little gent.
Beautiful mother of the bride. I love Mary!
 Such a gorgeous setting.

Thank you Beth and Gerson. I wish you two a blessed life together!

More etsy

I'm either teaching my daughters to be good business women or crazy people.  Olivia, my very talented and beautiful step-daughter was with us for her mid-winter break this past week. I consider her a talented crafter, so I converted our dining room into a craft studio. Olivia helped me pump out some orders of fern shoots and create a few new designs. Sophia and Gianna were our models... Enjoy a few pics and check out our etsy site.

Etsy

So, I make these little faux fiddleheads and sell them on etsy. They've been selling well with DIY brides and I've even just shipped a large order to a floral shop in Maine. Today I was alerted that the post was chosen in a treasury collection. Yay! I love treasury collections! Just had to share. Click on the pic to see the whole collection.

Oh, and... I make and ship custom boutonnieres too. Here's a link to an adorable pinterest board one of my bouts is featured in. One of the reasons I created the faux fiddleheads in the first place. These puppies had to travel to Mexico in the heat of the summer. Looks like they held up pretty good. Phew...

Sarah and Quinn

First of all, what an awesome family! I met Sarah's mom, Debbie while delivering to a wedding a few years ago. She held onto my card and called me when Sarah and Quinn were engaged. I was very honored and flattered to hear from her. This gorgeous wedding was at the Salishan Spa and Golf Resort just south of Lincoln City on New Years Eve. Incredible venue, fabulous date! Sarah and Quinn also had one of the best wedding coordinators I've ever worked with. I really enjoyed working with Morgan from A Time 4 Memories. She was on top of everything from the beginning of planning to the very end. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, at least a day-of coordinator is the recipe for success.

I had a lot of fun with the floral color pallet of pink, orange and red, punctuated with little winter touches. I designed with roses, orchids, and splashes of Asiatic lilies and even a few amaryllis accented with evergreens and dusty miller. The single gardenia in the bridal bouquet represented Sarah's grandmother, and the single white rose was for her aunt, both of whom were with her in spirit on her wedding day. I snapped a few photos, but I'm very excited to see the pro shots soon. I'll pass them on for sure. Enjoy these for now...
